Morro Bay-Wednesday

So, the rest of the days I guess James and I planned together since we helped Preston with his day as well as our own.  Wednesday we drove a few hours north for a day trip to Monterey.
We enjoyed the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which we have been to a couple times in the past...

Brielle and Ethan didn't remember it and were enthralled with watching all of the sea life.
And loved the waves crashing overhead.
Preston mostly just wanted to push buttons, turn knobs, and touch whatever he was allowed to touch.  Luckily it is a great aquarium with a lot of hands-on activities.
After the aquarium we had a picnic with a great view once again.
The kids wanted to get down and explore a little bit closer.
We then went to play at Dennis the Menace park.
Followed by an ice cream at Ghiradelli.
We decided to take Big Sur home.  It is a longer drive, but with spectacular scenery along the way.
Preston had a hard time seeing anything through his binoculars.  He kept using the lens cap trying to see through as he told everyone to back up and move out of the way.
We did a short hike to see the McWay falls in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park
You can't see the waterfall just behind us, but it is pretty cool seeing it flow into the ocean.
We ended up getting back to Morro Bay for a late night dinner about 9pm.
